America Rohm Haas Company is the largest acrylic acid monomer and polymer manufacturer in the world, as well as one of the transnational companies which focus on the research, develop and manufacture of fine chemical product. The company was established in 1909, and its headquarters is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nowadays the company is developing marketing in more than a hundred countries in the world.
From 1960s on, Rohm Haas Company has always been leading the development of industrial and civil bactericide and has obtained more than a hundred patents. The series of products developed based on the isothiazolinone have been recognized by the US Environmental Protection Agency and applied in more than 20 areas such as the disposal of industrial water, face-painting and clean product, paint and dope industry, metal processing, watercraft primer, wood antisepsis, fuel protection, and so on. At present, Rohm Haas Company focuses on the research and development of bactericide and antiseptic in 3 of the 16 global scientific research centers (US Spring House, Japan Research Center, Singapore Technical Service Center).
Early in 1987, Rohm Haas Company entered Chinese market due to its original insight, and established Beijing East Rohm Haas Co., Ltd, Shanghai East Rohm Haas Co., Ltd and Shanghai Rohm Haas Chemical and Industrial Co., Ltd. In order to maintain the leading position of technology and extend its management in China, the company established Rohm Haas Great China Technology Center combined with knowledge and modernization in Shanghai, January, 2001. Meanwhile, in order to increase the import and export trade of fine chemical product in Chinese market, the company established Rohm Haas International Trade (Shanghai) Company. With efforts in Chinese market for more than 15 years, the technology of Rohm Haas has early been recognized by the industry and it is possessing the leading position in Chinese market.
